1. Who we are
The jops service is run by [TO COMPLETE: legal name, legal form, country of registration, registration number], whose registered office is at [TO COMPLETE: registered address] (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso). On this page, "jops", "we" and "our" mean that entity.
These terms come on top of our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.
2. What jops does
jops connects digital talents with organizations that are hiring. In particular, the service lets you:
- post a job offer, a freelance mission or an internship, with or without an account;
- create a talent profile, apply and follow your applications;
- search profiles and offers, with an automatic ranking of results;
- ask for your skills to be certified;
- discover events and register for them.
jops is a technical intermediary. We are not the employer, the agent or the representative of talents or organizations. Contracts are made between you and the other party, under your sole responsibility.
We do not guarantee that an offer will succeed, that a candidate will be chosen, or that information published by users is accurate or up to date.
Ranking and suggestions are computed automatically. They can be wrong and do not replace your judgement: no decision about you is taken by a machine alone.
3. Your account
- You must be at least [TO COMPLETE: minimum age, for example 16].
- The information you give must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for your password and for what is done from your account. If you think someone else is using it, change your password and tell us.
- An account is personal: do not lend it or resell it.
- On behalf of an organization, you state that you have the authority to bind it. The owner of the organization account chooses each member's role (owner, administrator, manager, member or viewer) and answers for how they use it.
4. If you are a talent
- You only publish true information about yourself, and a CV or documents you have the right to share.
- When you apply, the organization sees your profile and CV. It can also search talent profiles.
- Your contact details (phone, e-mail) are only shown to organizations if you turned on the "public contact" option. That option is a paid service (see "Paid services").
- A certification is issued after the jops team reviews your evidence. It states what we checked at that time, not a diploma or a guarantee of skill.
5. If you represent an organization
- Your announcements are true, lawful and precise: a real job, real conditions, a real organization. They do not unlawfully discriminate against anyone and never ask candidates for money.
- The talent data you see or search is only for your own recruiting, within the law. You do not resell it, copy it in bulk, or use it for marketing unrelated to the offer.
- Access to the talent directory or to talents' contact details may require a request to jops, reviewed by our team, and a paid service.
- You treat talents with respect: a clear answer and an honest handling of their application.
6. Posting an announcement without an account
- Posting an offer, a mission or an internship is free.
- Our team reviews each announcement before it is published. We may refuse it, lightly edit it for clarity, or remove it later, if it does not follow these terms.
- Your e-mail and phone are used to get back to you about the announcement: they are never shown publicly.
- If you attach a job sheet (PDF, 5 MB at most), you have the right to share it and it contains no third party's personal data unless the offer needs it.
- You remain responsible for the content of your announcement.
7. Your content
Your content (profile, CV, announcements, messages) remains yours. You give us the right to keep it, display it and process it as far as needed to run the service (for example, showing your application to the organization concerned, or publishing your announcement). That right ends when the content is deleted, subject to the retention periods in the privacy policy.
We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading or against these terms. To report content: contact@jops.africa.
8. What is forbidden
- creating a fake profile or a fake announcement, or pretending to be someone else;
- publishing content that is unlawful, discriminatory, abusive, misleading, or that infringes others' rights;
- automatically collecting profiles, offers or contact details (bots, bulk copying);
- getting around access limits, in particular those on paid contact details;
- sending unsolicited bulk messages, chain letters or advertising;
- disrupting or testing the security of the service without our written agreement, including through abusive automated requests;
- uploading a file that contains a virus or malicious code;
- reselling access to the service or its data.
9. Paid services
Posting an announcement is free. Some services are paid: an organization's subscription (Free, Pro and Enterprise plans) and a talent's "public contact" option, for a limited period.
- Prices: [TO COMPLETE: prices and durations, or a pointer to the pricing page]. The prices shown at the time of purchase prevail.
- Taxes: [TO COMPLETE: prices including or excluding tax, depending on your situation].
- Payment: by mobile money or card, through our payment providers (Flutterwave, PawaPay), whose terms also apply. We do not keep your card or account numbers.
- Cancelling: [TO COMPLETE: how and when to cancel a subscription, and what happens at the end of the paid period].
- Refunds: [TO COMPLETE: refundable or not, and under which conditions].
10. Offers from other sites
jops also shows offers found on other sites. We show a summary and link to the original site, where you apply. We do not control them or endorse them, and they may be inaccurate, out of date or withdrawn: check them on the original site.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We do our best to keep jops available and working well, but the service is provided as it is: it may be interrupted for maintenance or because of a fault, and we may change it, add or remove features. If a free feature becomes paid, we will tell you beforehand.
12. Suspension and end of the account
- You can stop using jops whenever you like. To delete your account, write to contact@jops.africa from the account's address (there is no deletion button yet).
- We may suspend or close an account that does not follow these terms, telling you where possible, and immediately in case of fraud or danger.
- What happens to your data when the account is closed is explained in the privacy policy.
- Rules that by nature must keep applying after the account ends (liability, applicable law) stay valid.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, jops is not liable for: exchanges, contracts and outcomes between talents and organizations; content published by users or coming from other sites; indirect losses (lost profit, lost opportunity); or interruptions of the service outside our control.
Our total liability to you is limited to [TO COMPLETE: cap, for example the amount paid to jops over the last 12 months]. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or your consumer rights.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the service changes. For an important change, we tell you on the site before it takes effect; continuing to use jops after that date means you accept it. The date of the last update is at the top of the page.
15. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [TO COMPLETE: country whose law applies]. If you disagree, write to us first: we look for a friendly solution. Failing that, disputes go to the courts of [TO COMPLETE: competent courts, for example those of Ouagadougou], subject to the mandatory rules that protect you.
